As a complimentary service, FM Relocation Services will circulate the spouse’s resume within our network of corporate clients (in addition to the spouse/partner working with Employment Services on campus).
Home Finding/Sale Assistance:
The relocation counselor will recommend an experienced real estate agent in your area to assist in marketing your current home and provide expert assistance in finding a new home.
Lending Services:
FM Lending has over 30 investor programs which will help you to find the lowest rate. Receive a $500 discount on closing costs.
Temporary Living Arrangements:
If temporary housing is needed at the new location prior to moving into a home, a relocation counselor will help you coordinate temporary living accommodations with competitive rates.

Our in-house rental database has free information on over 250+ apartment communities in the Triangle. Personal drive-around assistance is available for a fee. Although our program does not cover rental single-family homes & condos, a list of property management companies is available.

Please note: The summer moving months typically require at least three weeks notice.
When authorized, moving expenses for new employees must be paid from discretionary or foundation funds. Moving expense should be carefully documented and charged to account code 51530. Coding to account code 51530 is important since the code drives the tax reporting for the moving expense payments. Three vendor quotes are required for moving expenses under $5,000. Moving expenses over $5,000 must be handled on a purchase requisition or bid basis. For more information on moving expenses, please contact the University Controller’s Office at 919-515-3824.
